The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) ranks the sweet potato as the #1 most nutritional vegetable. It was higher in nutrients than the white potato, spinach or broccoli. It scored 184 points with other vegetables falling between 83 –24. The CSPI gave points for contents of dietary fiber, naturally occurring sugars, complex carbohydrates, protein, vitamins A and C, iron and calcium. The higher the score, the more nutritious the food.
